| While this small heron is a fairly common bird, it is not often seen throughout most of its range. Shy by nature, it prefers to keep to the lower branches of the bushes and small trees which surround little ponds and streams. There it hunts for small fish which wander within its reach. The Everglades offers a great opportunity to see this bird as it demonstrates its unique fishing style. |
