| The brown pelican is a common sight in most of the southern coastal areas. These stately birds often feed in groups. The hunting party will fly in formation low over the surface herding and concentrating schools of their prey. Then, in unison, they will suddenly turn and dive into the water to collect the small fish in their bill pouches. |
